Why I’m Buzzing About Bee Pollen

Bee Pollen Health Benefits

Let’s talk about Bee Pollen and how exactly it has changed my life!

Everyday, before I drink my coffee, I eat a teaspoon of raw coconut oil topped with Bee Pollen!

I know this might sound crazy so stick with me, k?

This Superfood Sunday might be a day late but I promise it’s worth it!

I am sharing with you one of my top weight loss tips that also happens to be a complete source of protein.

It’s full of amino acids and vitamins and Supermodels like Miranda Kerr as well as celebrities like Victoria Beckham and Kristen Bell swear by! So….

What the Eff is Bee Pollen?

According to this source “Bee pollen is the pollen collected by bees from flowers; if you look closely at bees in the summer you may see little yellow balls collected on their legs, this is bee pollen which the bee is gathering to take back to the hive.

These little pellets of bee pollen can then be harvested by bee keepers from the hive and taken to supplement the diet.“

Health Benefits of Bee Pollen!

It’s a Nutritional Powerhouse– Bee pollen is high in protein, folic acids, vitamins and amino acids. It is really unique Superfood because it is high in nutrients that animal based foods don’t contain.

Bee pollen contain more amino acids gram for gram than chicken, beef, cheese, or eggs!

Huge Energy Boosts– If you know me you know I am die hard coffee addict, especially since discovering cold brew coffee, which is lower in acidity and just better for your body overall.

However since I started taking my little magic teaspoon of Bee Pollen with Coconut Oil in the morning I have been able to cut back on my coffee habit even more because I literally start buzzing with energy!

It helps to increase energy because it is crazy high in B vitamins content and includes large amounts of rutin, an antioxidant that helps strengthen capillaries and blood vessels, which can support the cardiovascular system.  It helps to fight off fatigue as well so you don’t have that nasty 2 p.m. energy crash.

Weight Loss Benefits– According to this site

“It works by stimulating your metabolism, which in turn speeds up calorie burn. It corrects any chemical imbalances in that metabolism which have also caused people to gain weight. This then regulates your appetite, and at the same time is a natural energizer”

This source also says that “Bee pollen also has diuretic qualities and is said to reduce cravings and hunger. For weight reduction, take pollen 30 minutes before meals with a glass of water.

Done and Done!

A few more little benefits!

Helps With Fertility! Not like I’m trying to start a family anytime soon but it definitely has been shown to help if you are trying to regulate your cycle, help with menstrual cramps, basically it helps that time of the month be a little bit easier!

Makes Your Hair and Skin Stronger and Healthier! All of those amazing Vitamins and Minerals in Bee Pollen help to make your hair stronger and grow longer so yes please!

Little Disclaimer- A lot of people are extremely allergic to bee pollen and might not know it until they try it, so if you’ve never ingested it, please try one kernel under your tongue to see if you’re allergic before eating any kind of bee pollen.

If you are in the clear though definitely follow my leader and sprinkle this shiz on your food, in your smoothies, even in your salad! It’s seriously the BEST energy boost around next to chia seeds (like crack) and Bee Pollen also helps keeps thing SUPER regular if you know what I mean….wink, wink….nudge, nudge..
